Made in Chelsea's Louise Thompson accused of fleeing Tier 4 London for Devon at Xmas

Made in Chelsea star Louise Thompson has been accused of fleeing Tier 4 London for Devon over Christmas.

The reality TV regular, 30, shared a picture of herself outside a Topsham near Exeter four days ago and tagged it as 'London' on Instagram.

However, eagle-eyed followers claimed the location was actually almost 200 miles outside of the capital.

The picture is believed to have been taken outside the Ebb and Flow homeware store in Topsham, with bosses of the store suggesting the picture does look like it was taken outside the shop.

Louise's followers flocked to her page to accuse the star of breaking coronavirus rules by leaving her home in Tier 4 London and travelling to Devon, where her fiance Ryan Libbey's family are based.

One follower wrote: "This looks like outside of @ebbsandflow home in Topsham??" and store bosses replied: "It is! That's our new signage!".

Another follower added: "You are sssooo not in London like."

A third commented: "She is in Devon to see Ryan's family no wonder why no stories in her Instagram and quiet."

Another added: "Considering how many covid deaths per day in our local hospitals this isn’t acceptable... please go home to tier 4... where your main residence is."

Before the new rules came in, Louise's fiance Ryan previously posted about his plans to return to Devon at Christmas.

He admitted he was looking forward to seeing his parents and having his traditional Christmas Day swim in the sea.

In a post on Facebook, he wrote: "It feels like forever since I’ve seen my mum & dad.

"Where we’re from it’s tradition to start Christmas Day off with a swim in the sea. I can’t wait to get be back on the beach with these two! Roll on the Christmas Holidays."

Under new rules that came in days before Christmas, London residents were banned from leaving and travelling to another Tier unless for essential reasons like work or education purposes.

It meant many were unable to see their families over the holidays as travel plans were cancelled at the last minute.

As well as being unable to travel to other areas, residents in Tier 4 have also been banned from meeting others indoors unless they are part of a support bubble.

Non-essential shops are also closed as well as pubs and restaurants, gyms and beauty salons among others.
