England came out easy winners in their latest European qualifier against Bulgaria on Monday Evening.
In a game that was marred by racist chants from certain areas of the home crowd, goals from Marcus Rashford, Ross Barkley (x2), Raheem Sterling (x2) and Harry Kane, gave the Three Lions a comfortable 6-0 victory, meaning that they now need just a point in their next match vs Montenegro to seal a place in the European Championships finals.
After a disappointing loss against Czech Republic on Friday evening, England boss Gareth Southgate made five changes to the starting lineup, with Spurs midfielder Harry Winks replacing Declan Rice in midfield.
It was just the 23-year-old's third senior international cap, he last had a taste of international football in the friendly against the USA in November 2018.
The result and performance of the team would have done no harm to Winks' ever growing reputation, but what did the national media make of the Tottenham man's individual performance?
Here is what some of the national outlets had to say:
The Telegraph
"Brought in to increase the pace of passing from midfield and was given the time and space to do it by Bulgaria. But more to do if he is going to be a long-term solution in a problem position."
Rating: 6/10
The Express
"The energy he brought to the heart of midfield made everything tick around him."
Rating: 8/10

The Daily Mail
"England’s midfield looks more composed and controlled with him in it. Has to be a fixture."
Rating: 8/10
Sky Sports
"Brought into the team for this game, Winks made a real difference right from the start when he won back possession in the first few seconds. His distribution was reliable and, perhaps just as importantly, it was quick, giving England some tempo to their play. A positive for Gareth Southgate."
Rating: 8/10
The Mirror
"Excellent. Set the tempo of the team, controlled midfield and must now get a run."
Rating: 8/10
