‘Madden’ simulation gives Cardinals 27-20 win over Seahawks

With the Arizona Cardinals and Seattle Seahawks set to battle Sunday afternoon at State Farm Stadium, it might be fun to see what a simulation of the game comes up with. Using Madden NFL 20 to simulate the game, the Cardinals score on their first four possessions, building a 20-3 lead and hold on against the Seahawks for a 27-20 win.

They get a 43-yard field goal on their first drive to get a 3-0 and, after forcing a Seahawks punt, get another field goal, a 54-yarder, to go up 6-0.

Seattle answers with a field goal and then Kyler Murray throws a seven-yards touchdown pass to Larry Fitzgerald to make it 13-3. The defense forces another punt and Murray finds Fitzgerald for a 29-yard touchdown.

Seattle gets a Tyler Lockett touchdown catch as time expires in the first half to make it 20-10.

In the second half, Kyler Murray throws an interception and the Seahawks respond with a field goal but the Cardinals respond. They drive down the field and Murray scores on a three-yard touchdown run to push the lead to 27-13.

In the fourth quarter, the Seahawks get deep into Cardinals territory but go for it on fourth down instead of kicking a field goal and the Cardinals stop them but punts away.

Seattle scores on a Will Dissly touchdown catch to make it 27-20. The Cardinals recover the onside kick and can’t run the clock out. Instead, they attempt a 58-yard field that Gonzalez misses, giving the Seahawks a chance to tie it. However, they run out of time and the Cardinals win 27-20.

Kyler Murray had 281 passing yards, completing 22-of-31 for two touchdowns and one pick. He also rushed for 14 yards. He was sacked three times.

David Johnson rushed for 83 yards on 16 carries and had three catches for 29 yards. Larry Fitzgerald led both teams with eight receptions for 110 yards and two touchdowns. Christian Kirk had six for 90 yards.

Chandler Jones and Terrell Suggs each had a sack.

The Cardinals defense held Chris Carson to 57 yards on 14 carries. Russell Wilson had 275 passing yards and two scores. DK Metcalf led the team with eight receptions for 75 yards. Tyler Lockett had as many receiving yards but on six catches. Tight end Will Dissly had six catches for 50 yards and a score.
