‘Madden’ sim: Kyler Murray sacked 7 times in 23-17 loss to Buccaneers

The Arizona Cardinals will take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Sunday in real life. How will it play out?

To get an idea of how it might happen, we simulated the matchup on the Madden NFL 20 video game, making adjustments to the lineup based on injuries.

It didn’t go well for the Cardinals. They lost to the Buccaneers 23-17. They never led in the game.

They twice tied the game, once at 10-10 and once again at 17-17, but the Bucs got two fourth-quarter field goals to come away with the win.

Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray was sacked seven times and was intercepted once.

Murray completed 20-of-33 passes for 225 yards, a touchdown and a pick. He also rushed for a touchdown, accounting for both the Cardinals’ trips to the end zone.

David Johnson had a big game with 77 rushing yards and 53 receiving yards on three catches. Pharoh Cooper led the team with seven catches for 56 yards, while Larry Fitzgerald had five for 50 and a touchdown.

Bucs quarterback Jameis Winston was 19-of-26 passing for 165 yards, two touchdowns and an interception. Ronald Jones had 23 carries for 96 rushing yards. Mike Evans had four receptions for 41 yards and tight end O.J. Howard had four for 44 yards and a touchdown.
