There’s no question that Le’Veon Bell is motivated to prove that 2019, the worst statistical season of his career, was an anomaly.
That’s why his latest Madden 21 rating is just more fuel added to the fire for the Jets’ All-Pro running back. He plans on using his latest rating (87) as motivation to get back to the high level of play he’d grown accustomed to in Pittsburgh.
While Madden’s ratings are more likely based on Bell’s production or lack thereof in 2019 than his reputation, he’s not exactly receptive to the idea of his overall rating dropping five points from the season before.
“I don’t even want Madden to update my s—…keep this energy,” Bell stated in an Instragam comment on Tuesday.
In a cryptic Tweet that was most likely related to his rating, Bell expressed that he’s not mad about how he’s viewed in the Madden community. Instead, he’s more motivated than ever to prove his doubters wrong.
Bell’s reaction to Madden’s latest ratings follows a similar pattern. Just last week, he was laughing at an ESPN poll of 50 league executives, scouts and players that ranked him as the 10th-best running back in the NFL.
It seems that the league and the popular football video game are in sync as far as Bell losing a step is concerned. For Bell, he’ll need to prove that it’s Madden’s gameplay that’s lost a step and not a 28-year-old who still has some of his best football ahead of him.
