EA Sports has officially opened the "Madden NFL 27" early access trial, giving eligible members a taste of this year's game a full week before its worldwide release.
The trial arrives through EA Play, letting players jump into the redesigned Franchise experience and updated gameplay systems ahead of everyone else.

Xbox confirmed the rollout through its official Xbox Wire post, describing the trial as a 10-hour early access window that lets members experience the game's new Persona Engine and reworked gameplay before launch.
According to Xbox, if a player decides to buy the full game afterward, their progress from the trial carries over directly.
Players may access the "Madden NFL 27" game via the EA Play pass that comes with their Xbox Game Pass subscription to enjoy the game early, ahead of its release later this August 13.
The Persona Engine stands as the headline addition this year, giving every NFL athlete in the game a distinct personality that shapes how they think, what motivates them, and how they respond to decisions made throughout a Franchise.
Xbox described the system as transforming Franchise mode into a more reactive, ever-evolving league shaped by nearly every choice a player makes.
Beyond franchise changes, "Madden NFL 27" also brings more physical gameplay, including more precise wide receiver and defensive back battles, new short-yardage mechanics, improved defensive coverage, and additional strategic pre-play options.
How to Access EA Play via Xbox Game Pass
EA Play is included as part of both PC Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, giving subscribers on either tier access to the "Madden NFL 27" trial at no extra cost. Members can also stream the trial directly through Xbox Cloud Gaming, in addition to downloading and playing it natively.
According to Xbox, EA Play members also get an EA Play Welcome Pack for "Madden NFL 27," along with a 10 percent discount on EA digital purchases, including the full game and Madden Points.
Subscribers additionally receive a monthly Madden Ultimate Team pack as part of their membership, giving them extra incentive to build out their roster even before deciding whether to purchase the complete game.
'Madden NFL 27': What to Expect?
"Madden NFL 27" officially entered its early access window on August 6, with several different paths leading players there depending on how they purchased or subscribed. EA SPORTS MVP+ members received the earliest access, unlocking a full seven days of unlimited play starting the same day the EA Play trial went live.
Players who pre-ordered the Deluxe Edition or MVP Bundle get their own three-day early access window starting August 10.
The full worldwide release for "Madden NFL 27" is set for August 13 across PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams headlines this year's cover, and the game also introduces a new soundtrack featuring artists including Lil Wayne and Bad Bunny.
With early access already underway for several groups of players, more hands-on impressions of the new Persona Engine and Franchise overhaul are expected to surface throughout the coming week ahead of the game's full launch.
