Madden NFL 20 player ratings: Best and worst from Bengals ratings reveal

Cincinnati Bengals rookies probably aren’t going to be too thrilled with their player ratings in Madden NFL 20 right out of the gates.

The team at EA Sports in charge of Madden NFL 20 started a slow rollout of player-rating reveals this week, leading the charge with rookies.

We compiled the entire ratings list here. Here are some notes and comments.

The Best: Even Madden likes undrafted wideout Stanley Morgan Jr., who gets hit with a 66 rating. That’s better than four drafted rookies and speaks to his ability. It was a little strange he went undrafted in the first place, so it is nice to see even Madden likes his chances.

The Worst: Ryan Finley was a surprise pick by the Bengals and yes, he had a bad time in OTAs and camp. So literally and figuratively, Finley is the worst from the ratings at a 56. That’s the lowest of the Bengals’ class and incredibly low for a top-105 pick. At this pace, the undrafted Jake Dolegala might have a higher rating when his is revealed.

The Odd: Drew Sample was primarily a blocking tight end in college and didn’t produce much within the offense. Bengals coaches swear he can and will — but that doesn’t change the fact it was a surprise the team made him a borderline top-50 pick. Madden seems to agree with the Bengals though despite him producing, giving him a 71 rating.

Extra: Both Germaine Pratt (LB) and Renell Wren (DL) quietly got ratings of 68. They’re going to be bigger factors than expected as rookies given the needs they fill, so it’s nice to see Madden judge them favorably already.
