Madden 2020 player ratings are in for Miami’s offensive rookies

It’s officially July, which means the buzz around the football world is gradually going to swell over the next four weeks. One annual tradition that has developed over the course of the last decade? The buzz surrounding the release of EA Sports’ Madden franchise each summer — an unofficial marker of the return of football.

Yesterday, EA Sports kicked off some hype for their 2020 rendition, courtesy of the 2019 NFL Draft class. The individual player ratings for each of the rookies included in the game have been revealed! How did the Dolphins do? Here are their offensive rookie ratings, as set for the release of the game.

RB Myles Gaskin – 65 overall

FB Chandler Cox – 64 overall

OG Michael Deiter – 64 overall

OT Isaiah Prince – 60 overall

OG Shaq Calhoun – 59 overall

Sorry, gamers! We hope you weren’t planning on any immediate upgrades to Miami’s offense — you won’t find them at the launch of Madden 2020. The consolation? The game developer reportedly did make the grading system more stingy for this year’s game, if it makes you feel any better about these paltry rankings.

The Dolphins’ youth movement in real life for 2019 will of course be tied to the success of young quarterback Josh Rosen, not necessarily any of the players listed here other than Chandler Cox (in a minimal role as a fullback to begin with) and Michael Deiter (expected starter at left guard).
