Madden 19 lauds Derrius Guice as a ‘player to watch’ over the next season

You’ve seen his college highlights. You’ve seen what he can do in the preseason. You’ve even seen how his rehab from ACL surgery is going.

If anyone were to ask you, it’s safe to assume you’d say that Derrius Guice is set to have a breakout year for the Redskins in 2019.

Now, the makers of EA Sports’ Madden 19 agree as well.

In his annual ‘Players to Watch’ article, write Daniel Williams offered some high praise to the second-year RB out of LSU, per Redskins.com.

“Guice was getting Ezekiel Elliott comparisons before the NFL Draft, and it’s absurd that someone of his talent wasn’t snagged until the late second round. He’s got power, quickness, and is elusive. Even with Alex Smith at the helm, Washington leaned into a more run-heavy offense. Currently, the QB situation next season is a bit bleak in [Washington], so expect an even heavier ground game approach in which Guice will be a feasting on yards. He could be next season’s big ratings leader in terms of OVR climb.”

Guice’s overall rating in the game (78) did not budge over the past year due to his injury and lack of time on the field. However, if the young RB has the type of season that Madden is anticipating, that number could skyrocket over the next calendar year.
