Madame Tussauds gives Donald Trump waxwork very fitting makeover after US Election defeat

Donald Trump may still be coming to terms with the fact he's lost the US Election, but the rest of the world is getting ready to welcome Joe Biden as president.

The Democrat's supporters took to the streets to celebrate, while Boris Johnson and celebrities rushed to social media to send congratulations.

But in London, the team at Madame Tussauds got straight to work updating their waxwork display.

Their Trump figure, which normally stands in a replica of the Oval Office wearing a black suit and red tie, was put into a different outfit following of Saturday night's announcement.

In place of his presidential suit, Trump now wears his golf outfit - featuring lilac and green checked trousers with a purple jumper.

He's standing next to a golf bag filled with his clubs.

But he's still wearing his trademark red baseball cap.

Trump's look couldn't be more fitting, as the current president was playing golf when the election result was announced.

Other Madame Tussauds attractions around the world also had a bit of fun with their Trump models as the world waited for the election result.

In Berlin, staff put his effigy in an actual dustbin.

The US President's smiling likeness is now among the garbage in a display at the museum in Berlin.

It was put there before Tuesday's election, as forecasters tipped the Republican to be dumped by American voters.

Despite putting Trump in a dumpster, a model of predecessor Barack Obama remains in place.

Other items in the bin with Trump's waxwork include cardboard 'tweets' and a Make America Great Again cap.

Speaking after the move last week, the museum’s marketing manager Orkide Yalcindag said: “Today’s activity is rather of a symbolic character ahead of the elections in the United States.

“We here at Madame Tussauds Berlin removed Donald Trump ’s waxwork as a preparatory measure.”

Regardless of the outcome, Trump and his dumpster are likely to be wheeled back before long.
