Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is getting ready to show people “How It’s Done” with KPOP Demon Hunters later this month. The Netflix phenomenon will join Charlie Brown and Pokemon up above New York City. In celebration of the big event, Netflix posted a video of a test run for Huntr/x’s pals. Derpy Tiger and Sussy the Raven will be together again during this year’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
2025 brings us the 99th edition of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. And, it’s going to be a special one with the second live performance from Huntr/x singers EJAE, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami. Netflix is making their presence felt all over this year’s parade with a new Stranger Things float too. Their “Upside Down Invasion” float is sure to cause quite a stir once it rumbles down the road during the parade.
Macy’s brass is clearly pumped about this year’s parade. In a statement, the executive producer Will Coss leaned heavy on the tradition and pageantry of this whole spectacle. “Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is the official kickoff to the holiday season and has been part of the nation’s stories and traditions for generations,” Coss began.
He added, “The most wonderful stories start at the Parade. On Thanksgiving morning, larger-than-life character balloons, awe-inspiring floats and showstopping performances will create unforgettable moments and lasting holiday memories for millions of spectators in New York City and across the country.”
KPOP Demon Hunters hits the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade

KPOP Demon Hunters has been an absolute heater this year. Those Billboard chart numbers, the response to the first live performance, and the literal theatrical release of a Netflix film are all bold indicators of a true phenomenon. But, with a couple Oscar nominations for EJAE, it’s clear that the entire creative team has their sights set on the biggest prize out there. Our friend Laura Sirikul talked to the Huntr/x trio for The Los Angeles Times. In her piece, Rei Ami put it all out there, the girls want that Oscars or Grammys stage.
“[Performing at the Oscars or Grammys] would be the biggest deal,” Ami explained. “I think we can all relate. That’s probably one of the highest accolades and achievements you can accomplish as an artist, songwriter, and producer. Those are all things we have on our bucket list.”
Later in the same interview, you had Ami talking about the long road to all this success. The amount of grinding for the last decade cannot be overstated. Now, KPOP Demon Hunters has forged a real sisterhood, and genuine fan support. Moments like the Thanksgiving Day Parade are only going to be more prevalent now.
“These women have worked so hard on their journeys individually,” Ami observed. “The industry has been so tumultuous, and the amount of pain, struggle, blood, sweat and tears that we’ve individually had to deal with … These two girls are the only ones in the world who will fully understand what I’m going through. I can’t talk to anyone else about this. Only they understand, and I feel so supported and not alone.”
