Mackie's release 'world's first' Boxing Day Curry crisps - here's where you can get them

A Scottish snack brand has just launched what it says is a world-first - Boxing Day Curry flavour crisps.

The new limited edition crisp flavour is the latest addition from Mackie’s Crisps and is inspired by the festive leftover classic.

Set to launch this month, only 250,000 bags of the unique flavour will be available across the UK.

After a number of tries to find its next festive flavour, with attempts to make a range of interesting combinations into the next crisp hit, the team at Mackie’s Crisps say they were blown away with the development of the spiced curry crisps and felt compelled to add it to their festive range.

Previous flavours have included the likes of Pigs and Blankets, Glazed Ham and Turkey and Stuffing, as well as Gingerbread Popcorn

Where to get them

The exciting new release will be available in Asda, Aldi, Sainsburys, Lidl, Tesco, Wilko, TJX (TK Maxx) and Scotmid.

With the 150g share bags also be available through C J lang (Spar Scotland), Central England Co-Op, Petty Wood, The Cress Company, Cotswold fayre, Springdale and the online retailer, British Corner Shop, where options for UK and worldwide shipping will open the door for global consumers to enjoy the new flavour.

The new launch continues the brand’s tradition of providing “world-first” crisp flavours, following the footsteps of Lorne Sausage and Brown Sauce - and Haggis, Neeps and Tatties.

James Taylor, Managing Director of the Perthshire family business, which is based at the fourth-generation Taylor factory in Errol, said: “Mackie’s Crisps is known for its out-there flavours and providing a unique consumer taste experience.

“We’re delighted to have so many stockists on board for this listing as it will allow individuals across the country to get their hands on the new flavour as it is widely accessible.

“It’s hoped the festive leftover flavour proves to be a popular choice amongst consumers in the lead up to Christmas – as you don’t often get the chance to conveniently have boxing day curry ahead of time.

“Taste is fundamental to us so we’re always interested in hearing feedback from customers. Hopefully, the crisps give a satisfying and recognisable taste that helps consumers reminisce on their favourite Boxing Day memory!”
