Mack Wilson promises he won’t let Christian Kirksey down in replacing him

Mack Wilson has assumed the starting linebacker role for the Cleveland Browns. The rookie from Alabama stepped in with the unfortunate injury to Christian Kirksey suffered in the Week 2 win over the New York Jets.

So when Kirksey’s season officially came to an end this week with the news he’s had surgery to repair his torn pectoral muscle, the torch was officially passed to Wilson. There had been some hope of Kirksey’s return off injured reserve prior to the surgery.

Wilson, who played every snap in the Week 4 win over the Ravens, is ready. And he had a message for his mentor and team captain, Kirksey, one that can also be to the faithful Browns fans:
