Machete-wielding robbers raid Leeds shop and leave staff 'shaken'

An investigation has been launched after machete-wielding robbers raided a Whinmoor shop, leaving staff "shaken".

The three suspects entered Nisa store and Post Office in White Laithe Approach, on December 13 at around 6.30pm.

They threatened staff, stole money from the tills as well as a large number of cigarettes and some bottles of spirits, placing them into a sack before making off on foot.

West Yorkshire Police say no one was injured during the robbery but staff have been left shaken by the "distressing" incident.

Detective Inspector James Entwistle said: “This was an understandably distressing incident for the staff involved and it’s left them shaken. It’s fortunate that none of them were injured.

“We are carrying out extensive enquiries to identify the individuals involved and we are asking anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information that can assist with our investigation to please get in touch.”
