Machete thugs burst into Castlemilk home and hold blade to girl's throat before stealing eight puppies

A group of thugs carrying machetes and hammers stole eight puppies in a late night house raid while a family were asleep in Castlemilk.

Shelby Lodge said that a group of young men broke into her family property on Barlia Drive at around 1.30am this morning (Wednesday).

It is claimed that the group smashed up the ‘entire house’ while making off with eight three-week-old bulldogs said to be worth around £1,000.

She added that the puppies ‘will not survive’ without their mother.

Heartbroken Shelby also said that her ten-year-old sister was threatened by one of the men at knife point.

In a Facebook plea, Shelby Lodge said: “To the absolute scummy young boys who’ve just been sent through my door at half one in the morning whilst we were all sleeping with machetes and hammers: Do you think you are wide coming to a house with babies in it and holding a knife to my 10-year-old wee sisters throat? Such big men."

“Knew exactly what house they were going to and who they were looking for. Smashed up the entire house, mum’s car and also stole eight puppies.

“Reward for any information given about these puppies because they’re three weeks old and will not survive without their mother or the milk we’ve been giving them.”

The Facebook update has been shared more than 1,000 times, with around 100 comments being sent in support of the family.

Police Scotland have launched an investigation into the incident.

A spokesperson for the force added that enquiries are ongoing.
