Machete, sword, sheath and suspected heroin seized during police raid in Radcliffe

A machete, sword and sheath were seized by police following a raid at a property in Radcliffe.

Officers stormed an address in Coronation Gardens on Sunday (August 16).

Upon entering, they immediately discovered a machete in the living room.

A damaged sword and sheath were seized from inside the property, as well as a substance suspected to be heroin.

It is not yet clear whether any arrests have been made in connection with the discovery.

Police have since taken to Facebook to share a picture of the haul of weapons they seized.

Sgt. Irish of Greater Manchester Police's Radcliffe Neighbourhood Team said: "There is a national campaign against knives and weapons at the moment.

"Under this new legislation, the campaign has expanded to tackling suspects who may use weapons against the public, even if said weapons are being stored in homes."

Anyone who has information on drugs activity or weapons possession in the local area, is strongly encouraged to contact Greater Manchester Police on 101, or the independent charity, Crimestoppers, on 0800 555 111, or online.
