Ever wondered how Home Alone’s dexterous protagonist Kevin McCallister would end up as an adult? The first episode of the new web series :DRYVRS starring Macaulay Culkin, the former child star who played the beloved character in the hit film series, gives a solid indication.
In the 1990 original and in the 1992 sequel, Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, Culkin’s McCallister is abandoned by his family over Christmas, and left to defend himself against two evil burglars by setting out a slew of creative and deadly booby traps.
The web episode, from Jack Dishel, finds McCallister married and driving an Uber. After picking up a passenger (played by Dishel), McCallister recounts the horrific experience of being left home alone a child, and the traumatic effect it’s had on his life. When a man tries to hijack his car, McCallister once again gets crafty.
“I don’t internets, but if I did I would strongly consider watching :DRYVRS,” Culkin said in a statement about the show.
Upcoming episodes will chronicle further strange Uber encounters between Dishel and his gonzo drivers, played by “numerous special guest stars”.
The episode comes just a month after the 25th anniversary of the original release of Home Alone. For Culkin, it marks his first appearance since playing himself on TV Land’s The Jim Gaffigan Show.
