Macabre Anatomy Lab Live event where guests eat dinner and dissect organs is coming to Edinburgh

A hugely popular dinner and dissection experience where guests enjoy a meal in the company of a quarantined human specimen is coming to Edinburgh.

Fans of the macabre are sure to be excited by news that Anatomy Lab Live will be returning next year following three sell out tours.

They'll be stopping by The Village Hotel on Edinburgh's Crewe Road South on 5 January.

Those lucky enough to grab tickets to Contagion 2020 will be able to enjoy a meal in a decontamination centre while a highly infected human specimen sits in a quarantine tank in the middle of the room.

Edith Bowman is going to be playing at Musselburgh Ladies Day - plus you can win a holiday to New York

After the two-course dinner the secure hatch will open and the clinical trials will start, with guests able to take part in real life experiments and dissecting inner organs to identify the bacteria pathogen.

Anatomy Lab were featured on Dragons Den in 2018, and CEO of ITAE Group Sam Piri said: "2020 will see guests develop an in-depth understanding of infectious diseases both in the community and the clinical setting.

"I am so excited about this concept as exploring the impact and extent of global pandemics, climate change, and an antibiotic resistant world feels to current and topical at the moment."

While the event is aimed at those with a macabre interest it will also appeal to students and graduates, and is geared towards exposing all there is to know about infection control.

Dean Thomas-Lowde, director for growth and development, said: "This is set to be a ground-breaking experience throwing light on real lab based clinical trials coupled with a complete human body dissection, and already early bird sales are strong."

Tickets include full PPE, equipment to participate and a two course meal. They are priced from £72.99, and for more information click here.
