Mabel announced for Newcastle's LooseFest in latest addition to summer programme

Mabel fans are in luck with news that the rising star will be joining the line-up of Newcastle live music showcase LooseFest this summer.

Organisers say they are 'delighted' about the new addition to the bill that will see the Brit Award winning singer-songwriter take to the festival stage on the Town Moor in July. Their announcement on Wednesday evening - which follows the recent reveal that Black Eyed Peas are to be LooseFest's headliners - comes on the back of Mabel's new single Good Luck, with Jax Jones and Galantis, which is bringing her another wave of acclaim.

The 26-year-old has been in the spotlight ever since she followed up her breakout Finders Keepers with debut album High Expectations in 2019 which went platinum. The following year she won the Brit Award for British Female Solo Artist.

Known for a string of hits such as Let Them Know, Don't Call Me Up, Mad Love, Boyfriend and Tick Tock - which saw her collaborate with Clean Bandit who also will be appearing at LooseFest - Mabel says of her new track: Good Luck is the empowering song you need when getting ready to go out: when you’re feeling low about someone, and your friends will take you out to get that person off your mind.”

Newcastle fans will be able to catch up with her on the Sunday of the July 30-31 weekender whose other acts announced so far include AJ Tracey, Bru-C, Dimitri from Paris, Example, Hybrid Minds, Jamie Jones, Joel Corry, Patrick Topping, Roger Sanchez and Solardo.

They will play across multiple stages on the Town Moor where a funfair carnival with a ferris wheel and a street food village also will be set up, making up what is being billed as "the largest festival ever to take place in the region". It is set to attract around 60,000 music lovers over its two-day run.

Dean Saunders, one of the festival's founding members, said; “We are delighted to add Mabel to our LooseFest 2022 line up. We absolutely love her new track Good Luck and we can’t wait for her to join us, on what is quickly becoming one of the most anticipated weekends of the year this summer."
