M90 slip road closed to traffic near Edinburgh after lorry driver gets HGV stuck on grass verge

An M90 slip road was closed to traffic after a lorry driver appeared to get stuck on a grass verge.

Images shared by the Fife Jammer Locations Facebook page show the HGV stuck on the grass at the A92 slip, with the route impassable. Diversions were in place via junction three.

Queues began building shortly after the incident happened before 2pm, and Traffic Scotland reported around 2.30pm that the route was closed to all northbound traffic at junction 2A.

They said: "The N/B exit slip at J2a onto the A92 is closed due to an incident with a HGV.

"Traffic is diverting via J3. Traffic is queueing on approach."

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 1.45pm on Friday, 15 January, 2021, officers were called to a report of a jackknifed lorry on the M90 at the A92 slip road. No-one was injured and officers are in attendance.”

Trunk road recovery teams were called to the scene and the vehicle was cleared from the road around 3.15pm. The route has since reopened to traffic.
