A section of the M9 in Falkirk will be closed tonight, as engineers start to resurface part of the carriageway.
The closure comes into force between Junction 8 and Junction 9 from 7:30pm and 6am until Saturday June 19.
During these closures, a diversion route for eastbound traffic will be signposted from M9 Junction 8 onto the M876, M876 Junction 2, A9 and A91 before returning to the M9 at Junction 9 Bannockburn.
This diversion will add an estimated 7 minutes and 2.4 miles to affected journeys.
Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s South East Network Manager, said: "These surfacing improvements will significantly improve safety and ride quality for motorists on this section of the M9.
"Northbound carriageway closures are essential for safety, however we’ve planned the works to take place overnight to minimise disruption.
"We thank motorists in advance for their patience and encourage them to plan ahead by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up to date travel information."
