M9 crash near Philpstoun in West Lothian leads to problems on eastbound carriageway

A road smash on the M9 has been causing serious problems on the motorway in West Lothian this morning.

Emergency services have been called to attend the accident, which happened on the eastbound route near Philpstoun.

Traffic Scotland reported news of the incident at around 6.20am, with queues already said to be building and traffic heading towards Newbridge, and Edinburgh, was affected.

Debris was said to be blocking the road due to the accident, which is understood to have involved one vehicle colliding with the central reservation.

Traffic Scotland say the incident has been dealt with, and traffic is starting to ease in the area.
