M9 crash: Motorway blocked in West Lothian as one-vehicle accident causes long tailbacks

The M9 is currently blocked near Linlithgow due to a road accident.

Police and trunk road recovery teams are currently in attendance, with traffic unable to pass the incident in the northbound direction.

Traffic Scotland reported news of the crash just after 8am this morning and motorists were warned to expect some delays in the area. Emergency teams arrived on the scene, between junctions three and four, a short time later and they've blocked the road so they can deal with the incident.

Only one vehicle was involved. Despite the roads being quieter due to travel restrictions, traffic is said to be heavy on the northbound approach at present.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 8:05am, on Monday, 30 November, 2020, police received a report of one vehicle road crash on the M9 between J3 and J4.  Emergency services are in attendance."
