Police have rushed to the scene of a road crash on the M80 after a car flipped onto its roof.
Officers rushed to the scene of the accident around 9am on Friday February 19 and the driver was taken to Forth Valley Royal Hospital as a precaution
The motorway has been closed northbound between junction eight and nine following the accident this morning.
Traffic is now being diverted via the M876 and the M9.
Drivers are being encouraged to find alternative routes and emergency services are currently at the scene.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 8.55am on Friday, 19 February, we received a report of a car on its roof on the M80 northbound near junction 8.
"The driver has been taken to Forth Valley Royal Hospital as a precaution.
"The road is currently blocked."
