The accident happened at Junction 16 Dobbie's Loan, between Cowcaddens and Charing Cross just before 3pm.
Traffic is backed up to Junction 13 Provan on the westbound route as a result.

An accident involving two cars and a lorry at Junction 28, the Glasgow Airport on slip, means vehicles are only running in two lanes.
Police and rescue workers are en route.
