Traffic on part of the M8 motorway has been brought to a standstill as a result of a trailer fire.
The incident has taken place near J27 at Paisley, causing traffic on the eastbound section of road to build, while emergency services have raced to the scene. Two out of the three lanes remain blocked, say Traffic Scotland.
Their earlier Tweet read: "M8 eastbound J27 Paisley - a trailer on fire has blocked the road, traffic unable to pass at the moment Emergency services en route.", while a photo with the Tweet shows smoke billowing across the motorway.

It is not yet known if anyone has been injured as a result of the incident.
UPDATE: Traffic Scotland have since confirmed the incident has been cleared, however there are delays in both directions.
