A section of the M8 motorway near Glasgow Airport will be closed for roadworks this week.
The Whitecart Viaduct, between junction 27 and junction 28, is set to be resurfaced, just before the turn off for the airport.
The works are due to take place over three nights, with closures and diversions in place:
- 10pm Wednesday 29 until 6am Thursday 30 of July – Eastbound works
- 10pm Thursday 30 until 6am Friday 31 of July – Westbound works
- 10pm Friday 31 July until 6am Saturday 1 of August – Westbound works
Scotland TranServ say: "The programme of overnight resurfacing will be carried out between the evening of Wednesday 29 of July and the early morning of Saturday the 1 of August.
"The project will follow strict physical distancing protocols in line with the Scottish Government’s COVID-19 guidance.
"In association with Transport Scotland, we have identified these projects as essential maintenance schemes, vital to maintaining the integrity and safety of the trunk road network.
"Local diversions will be in place throughout this short series of overnight closures. Special arrangements will be made for emergency service vehicles. No additional measures are being made for windfarm traffic or abnormal loads.

Peter McCann, Scotland TranServ’s Major Bridges Manager, commented: "This is an important section of the trunk road network, and as such is used by emergency services, freight, retail and delivery traffic as part of their essential working. It is vital that we complete these works in order to maintain road safety.
