Drivers are being asked to avoid the M8 in Renfrewshire following a crash on the carriageway this morning.
The motorway was closed in both directions from West Ferry to the St James Interchange following a one vehicle crash near junction 31.
Emergency services remain at the scene.
The eastbound carriageway has since reopened but the westbound road remains closed and local diversions remain in place.
A spokesman for Police Scotland said: "Police were called around 5.05am following the report of a one vehicle road crash on the M8 Westbound and junction 31.
Emergency services are in attendance and the road is currently closed westbound.
Enquiries are currently ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
