Three lanes on the M8 have been closed after what appears to have been a huge collision on the motorway, near Glasgow Airport.
Traffic Scotland tweeted an image of the scene, which shows at three fire engines and other emergency services responding to the incident.
Traffic Scotland say: "M8 RTC affecting both directions at J28 E/B Lanes 2 & 3 (of 3) closed W/B Lane 3 (of 3) closed.
"Emergency services are on scene.
"Traffic is slow on approach."
A Police Scotland spokesperson confirmed to Glasgow Live: "It's a two-vehicle RTC - a car and a lorry.
"It's on the M8 eastbound, near the junction for Glasgow Airport with the A737.
"It was reported to us just after mid-day.
"Emergency services are on scene."
A spokesperson for The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service advised: "We were alerted at 12.08pm on Tuesday, November 12 to reports of a road traffic collision involving two cars on the M8 near junction 28.
"Operations Control mobilised three appliances to the scene and firefighters are working alongside emergency service partners."
