Police raced to the scene of a crash on the M8 after a driver lost control of their car in the wet conditions.

Three people were taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, however no one was seriously injured in the collision.

Officers are warning motorists to "slow down" following the incident, which highlights the dangers of aquaplaning when there is surface water.

Taking to social media a spokesperson for the unit said: "Please remember to drive to the prevailing weather conditions. If it's wet or there is surface water, slow down.
