A three vehicle smash has blocked the M8 between Livingston and Newbridge.
A stretch of the eastbound carriageway is affected by the accident, which was reported around 8.50am on Wednesday.
Traffic Scotland say that police and trunk road teams are aware of the incident between junctions three and two.
Delays are building on the route, with a van needing recovered from lane two.
The vehicles were moved to the hard shoulder around 9am, and queues were starting to ease.
The accident was completely cleared around 9.40am and traffic was returning to normal.
