M8 crash between Edinburgh and Livingston causing major rush-hour delays with lane blocked

A crash on the M8 between Edinburgh and Livingston is causing lengthy delays during Tuesday's evening rush hour.

One lane is currently blocked due to the collision, which happened on the eastbound carriageway near junction two – where the road meets the M9 close to Newbridge.

Traffic Scotland reported news of the accident just before 5pm, adding that "traffic is very slow getting by".

This is likely to cause misery for many of those heading towards Edinburgh, from West Lothian and the M9, throughout the evening rush hour.

It has since been reported that the incident has been cleared, but lengthy delays remain.

We'll bring you more on this as we get it.
