A road accident in the M8 roadworks near junction four is adding to the already lengthy delays on the route.
Traffic Scotland reported news of a collision on the eastbound route near Whitburn at around 8.50am.
Police and trunk road support teams are currently on their way to the scene, but this incident is likely to add to the queues on Scotland's busiest motorway in West Lothian this morning.
The accident was cleared around 9.40am but delays remain on the route.
On Monday 12 weeks of major roadworks got underway in the area. The £270,000 project has this week been causing extra delays as teams work on surface repairs, improving the drainage and replacing the central barrier.
