M77 crash - severe rush hour delays after multi-vehicle smash

Commuters travelling to Glasgow via the M77 motorway today could be subject to severe delays after a crash on the northbound section of road.

Traffic Scotland report a multi-vehicle crash at junction 6 near Galston in Ayrshire which has led to the closure of one lane and subsequent heavy traffic.

They Tweeted at 7.25am: "#M77 N/B - multi vehicle RTC blocking lane 2 of 2. Traffic heavy on approach. S/B lane 1 remains closed due to the earlier RTC."

The incident is separate to an earlier accident on the southbound section of road, also causing major disruption to drivers travelling in the opposite direction, from Glasgow.
