M77 crash: Motorcyclist rushed to hospital as police hold motorway traffic

A motorcyclist has been rushed to hospital after a bad crash on the M77.

Emergency services were called to the scene of the one-vehicle RTC on a northbound section of the road between Fenwick and Kingswell shortly after 3.30pm this afternoon (Saturday).

Traffic was held in both directions as lanes on the northbound and southbound stretches of the motorway were shut down.

Police have confirmed the road has now fully re-opened.

The condition of the male motorcyclist is at this stage unknown.

A Police Scotland spokesperson advised: “Police received report of a one-vehicle crash involving a motorbike on the M77 northbound at junction 6 around 3.35pm on Saturday, 31 July, 2021.

"Emergency services attended and the male motorcyclist has been taken to hospital by ambulance.

"The road has re-opened.”
