There are major traffic delays on the M74 this morning following an early morning crash.
Traffic Scotland confirmed the incident, on the northbound road at junction 6 to 5, near the Raith Interchange, at around 7am this morning.
One lane remains closed and emergency services have been called to the scene.
Traffic Scotland estimate delays of around 40 minutes.
Providing an update shortly before 8am, they confirmed: " #M74 northbound J6 to J5 Lane 3 remains closed.
"Lanes 1 and 2 are running.
"Traffic is queuing back to J7 - delays approx 40 mins."
Police Scotland have been contacted for comment.
UPDATE: A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 7am on Friday, 18 December, officers were called to the M74 Northbound at junction 6, following a crash involving one car.
"There are no reported serious injuries, but delays expected as vehicle recovery is arranged."
