M73 crash near Drumpellier Country Park sees traffic delays amid police response

Police are at the scene of a crash on the M73 motorway which has led to significant traffic delays in the area.

Traffic Scotland advised at 10.30am emergency services had been scrambled to the scene following the collision close to Drumpellier Country Park to the north of Glasgow.

At the time of writing (12 noon), one lane remains closed as emergency services continue their response to the incident.

The nature of the crash is not known at this stage and Glasgow Live have contacted Police Scotland for comment.

Traffic Scotland posted on Twitter: "10:30 #M73 RTC

"Lane 1 of 2 restricted southbound at Lochend Road due to an RTC.

"Police are on scene.

"Traffic is heavy on approach."

UPDATE: Traffic Scotland has confirmed both lanes are now clear, while a Police Scotland spokesperson advised Glasgow Live: "Police were called around 10.20am on Thursday, 7 October, 2021 following the report of a one vehicle road crash on the M73 Southbound near the Baillieston roundabout."

"Officers attended and there is no details of injuries at this time.

"The road is not closed."
