M621 crash blamed on Storm Christoph as Ferrari flips upside down and crashes through barrier

A Ferrari crashed through a barrier on the M621 and flipped upside down in a crash being blamed on Storm Christoph this morning.

A lane of the M61 anti-clockwise was closed just before 12pm after the supercar aquaplaned between junction one for Beeston and junction 27 of the M62.

A picture shared by Highways England shows devastating damage to the supercar, worth over £100,000.

It has not been reported whether anyone was injured but the lane of the M621 has since reopened.

Highways England said: “M621 anti-clockwise J1 Beeston to J27 M62 lane 1 is currently closed to facilitate the recovery of vehicles involved in a collision.

Replying to the update on Twitter, one person said: “Expensive mistake to make, now if only their driving was as good as they thought it was.”

Another added: “Poor sod. A nasty way to learn that wide tyres aquaplane easier than narrow ones. Hope they're ok.”
