A stretch of the M62 has been closed following a serious crash between a lorry and a van.
An air ambulance has been called to the scene between junction 22 for Milnrow and junction 23 for Huddersfield.
The westbound carriageway heading towards Greater Manchester has been closed, while traffic on the eastbound carriageway towards Yorkshire is extremely slow.
Motorway cop PC Dave Cant tweeted a photo of the air ambulance landing on the M62.

He said highways officers are on the scene to assist trapped vehicles.
Police and firefighters are also understood to be on the scene.

The crash took place at about 8am and the motorway was closed about 30 minutes later.
The Highways England website shows traffic at a standstill almost all the way back to the M606 near Bradford.
