M61 drink-drive suspect caught doing 31mph on middle lane

Greater Manchester Road Police spotted a suspicious vehicle being driven at 31mph on the middle lane of the M61 this morning.

Traffic Police officers pulled the car over and breathalysed the driver who was recoded at 99 nearly three times the legal limit of 35.

The motorist was arrested on suspicion of drink driving and has been remanded in custody pending court appearance.

GMP Police tweeted at 1.51am: "Driving at 30/32 mph in Lane 2 on the M61 is certainly going to get you noticed by our #ME58 @gmptraffic

"Driver stopped and Provided a Positive road side breath test with a reading of 99. Legal limit is 35.#Arrested #Fatal4 #OffToCustody"
