M60 driver clocked at 102mph was wanted for multiple offences

A man wanted for multiple offences has been arrested after police pulled him over for driving at 102 miles per hour on the M60.

The driver was stopped on Manchester Road in Ashton after driving at 'excess speed' on the M60 and initially gave police false details.

As well a being disqualified from driving and driving without insurance, the man was wanted for a number of other offences, leading to his arrest and the vehicle being seized.

Greater Manchester Police Traffic said on Twitter on Thursday night: “XT28 Stopped Manchester Road, Ashton after sighted at excess speed on M60.

“Driver gave false details. He was disqualified and wanted for a number offences.

“Vehicle seized no insurance and driver arrested.”

According to Government statistics, the percentage of cars exceeding the speed limit on motorways rose to 50 per cent in the first three months of 2021.
