Two boys have been taken to hospital with serious injuries after a horror smash on M60 motorway.
Emergency services dealt with the collision that happened clockwise near junction 24 for Denton, Greater Manchester, at about 2.30pm.
Drivers have reported seeing a ‘horrendous’ crash as they passed the scene and two air ambulances were deployed to the scene.
The two injured boys are believed to be aged six and 10, reports the Manchester Evening News.
INRIX said that the accident was due to a collision between a car and a van.
The M60 will be closed well into the evening as emergency services deal with the incident, police said.

Manchester Airport has warned passengers who use that part of the motorway to get there to leave more time for their journey.
A statement from the North West Ambulance Service said: "We attended with two air ambulances, three ambulances a rapid response vehicle and advanced paramedic.
“Two patients have been taken to hospital. Both are children via road ambulance.
“They are thought to be two boys aged six and ten. Their injuries are serious.
“Two other patients are being treated at the scene. One air ambulance is still at the scene.”
A spokesperson for Manchester Fire Service said: “We were called at 1.53pm to reports of a collision between junction 23 and 24 of the M60.
“Crews attended a road traffic collision involving two vehicles, car and either a lorry or a van.
“Nobody was trapped but North West Ambulance attended and took three people to hospital.”
