The M60 was closed for an hour this morning due to a police incident.
The clockwise carriageway was shut at junction 20 for Blackley just before 6am.
The A664, Rochdale Road, which runs above the motorway, was also closed while emergency services attended.
Greater Manchester Police, North West Motorway Police and the North West Ambulance Service were all called to the scene.
Both the road and the motorway have now reopened, and traffic is now running as normal following earlier congestion.
