M6 driver smashes into central reservation after having 'tipple' the night before

A BMW driver crashed into the central reservation on a busy motorway after "having a tipple the night before", police said.

The motorist was slammed by officers as the loser of the "Bright Spark Award 2020" after the crash between junction 34 and junction 35 of the M6.

Lancashire Road Police said this morning, December 21, the driver was driving on the very wet motorway at speed when the incident occurred.

He managed to escape with minor injuries but significant damage was caused to the vehicle.

Photos show the white BMW with a smashed up bonnet after the crash and vehicle parts hanging off it.
