Four people have died in a three-car motorway crash in Galway, Ireland.
The collision took place on the M6 at Ballinasloe on Thursday night.
The victims were pronounced dead at the scene following the horror crash.
Gardai have urged people to avoid the area with road closures in place in both directions.
Investigators are still probing the cause of the crash.
However it is believed vehicle may have been travelling the wrong way down the motorway before hitting two others, the Irish Examiner reports.

Officers confirmed the bodies have been removed to Portiuncula Hospital, Ballinasloe, for post-mortem examinations following the 7.40pm smash.
The M6 remains closed on Friday morning in both directions between junction 14 and 15, with forensic investigators at the scene.
Gardai are asking any witnesses to come forward and any road users who may have camera footage of the crash to contact them.
A spokesman said: "Gardaí are investigating a fatal road traffic collision involving three vehicles that occurred at approximately 7:40pm on Thursday, 19th August, 2021, on the M6 at Poolboy, Ballinasloe, County Galway.
"Four persons were pronounced dead at the scene and their bodies were removed to Portiuncula Hospital, Ballinasloe, for post mortem examinations to be conducted at a later date.
"The M6 in both directions between Junction 14 and 15 is currently closed and Forensic Collision Investigators are examining the scene. Local diversions are in place.
"Gardaí are appealing to any witnesses of this collision to come forward.
"Gardaí are also appealing to any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling on the M6 at Poolboy, Ballinasloe, at the time to make this footage available to Gardaí.
"Anyone with information is asked to contact Ballinasloe Garda Station on 090 9631890, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station."
The Mirror has approached the Gardai for comment regarding reports of a vehicle travelling the wrong way down the M6 before the crash.
The force said it was unable to provide information at this stage.
