The M57 is currently closed in both directions due to an ongoing police incident.
Travel monitoring service Inrix says: "All traffic being temporarily held and stationary traffic due to police incident on M57."
The incident appears to be focused around Junction 2 for the A57, Liverpool Road (Prescot).

The Force Incident Manager for Merseyside Police confirmed the motorway was closed on the northbound and southbound carriageway, with officers in attendance at the scene.
One witness told the ECHO: "the M57 is closed in both directions, we’ve been stuck here for about 30 mins so far. Doesn’t look like we’re moving anytime soon. We’re right at the front of the queuing traffic."
