M56 traffic news: Long delays and lane closure following car crash

There are long delays on the M56 following a car crash.

The collision is causing delays of around 40 minutes between junction seven, for Bowdon, and junction six, for Wilmslow Road.

It is unknown if anybody has been injured at this stage.

There are reports of queuing traffic stretching up to five miles between the two junctions.

Drivers are being advised to allow extra time to complete journeys.

A lane is also closed on the M6 due to a broken down lorry, which is also adding to queues in the area.

The lane closure is affecting traffic between junction 20 of the M56, for Lymm Interchange, and junction 19 for Knutsford.
