A major motorway is closed this morning due to a 'serious' police incident.
Officers have closed the M56 westbound between junction 4 at Wythenshawe and junction 5 for Manchester Airport.
Emergency services including motorway police and traffic management officers are at the scene.

A spokesperson for North West Motorway police said: "The M56 J4 will be closed for some time due to serious police incident.
"All traffic confirmed to leave network at J4 on west bound carriageway."
National Highways Traffic officers are on scene to assist with traffic management.
National Highways have reported a diversion is in place.
Road users are advised to follow the solid black square diversion symbol on road signs:
- Leave the M56 westbound westbound at J4.
- At M56 J4/Simonsway junction turn left onto Simonsway heading east.
- Follow Simonsway tom the junction with Shadow Moss Road and turn right onto Shadow Moss Road heading south.
- Continue on Shadow Moss Road until it merges with Ringway road and merge into Ringway road.
- Proceed on Ringway Road until the junction with the B5166 Styal Road and turn right onto the B5166.
- Follow the B5166 to the junction with the A555 Manchester Airport Relief Road and turn right onto the A555.
