Huge M5 queues of holiday traffic ahead of 'last warm weekend'

The M5 is grinding to a halt once again amid holidaymakers' last run for the sun before Autumn weather sets in.

There is stop-start traffic throughout the entire stretch of the M5 corridor in the region, with congestion both north and south this afternoon (September 24).

Traffic is light from Cheltenham, passed Gloucester and towards Bristol, but that's likely to become more congested as the day progresses.

Inrix states: "Slow traffic due to holiday traffic on M5 in both directions from J22 (Burnham-on-sea) to J19 A369 Martcombe Road (Portishead). Friday delays.

This weekend is expected to be a warm one and the last pleasant spell before temperatures dip on Monday.
