A giant hole has appeared in the middle of the M5, causing miles of tailbacks and damage to cars.
The cavity is around six inches deep and a foot long, according to Gloucestershire Police.
It shut two lanes on the M5's northbound carriageway between junction 9 at Tewkesbury and junction 8 at Strensham, Worcestershire.
A number of cars were damaged and moved to the hard shoulder following the incident.
INRIX said it caused two miles of queues while traffic was managed, GloucestershireLive reports.
An update said: "Two lanes closed and queueing traffic for two miles due to emergency repairs on M5 Northbound from J9 A46 (Tewkesbury) to J8 M50.

"Lanes one and two of four are closed."
Highways England warned of two-hour delays due to the closures, although all lanes were reopened by 7.17pm.
The organisation sent a crew to repair the hole in the M5 carriageway.
In a previous tweet, National Highways: South-West said: "The Lane 1 & 2 closure is now in place and we are awaiting our contractors to attend and repair the defect. We will update when the repair is complete. Thank you for your patience."
Gloucestershire Police tweeted: "Lanes 1 & 2 are closed on the M5 NB carriageway between J9 for Tewkesbury and J8 for the M50 interchange. This is due to a hole in the second lane - several cars have sustained damage. This is expected to cause delays/tailbacks - motorists are advised to seek alternative routes."
